About Department
Department of Management Studies of K.S.Rangasamy College of Technology, Tiruchengode was established in the year 1994. The Department was started with a vision of developing the rural students to become competitive managers in all functional areas of management to meet global challenges. The Present batch is the (2025-27) 32nd batch of the department. The Department is Accredited by NBA for 3 years from 2024 - 27. The Department is backboned by experienced and well qualified faculty members, well stacked library, good infrastructure and good placement record. Average year of experience of the faculty is 13 years. Out of 09 faculty members, six faculty members have completed Ph.D and rest of the faculty members are pursuing Ph.D. The Department has been practicing innovative teaching methodologies like Activity Based Learning, Design thinking, and Case Study Analysis. The Department is offering Finance, Marketing, HR, Operations Management and Business Analytics as Specialization. It is frequently organizing various kinds of seminars, guest lectures, trade shows, exhibitions, workshops and Management Development Programmes through various functional clubs under Management association. The Department has built up a strong Alumni network and many of Alumni are supporting us for Internship, Guest lecture and Placement. Through Entrepreneurship Development Cell, the department has conducted several programmes on Entrepreneurship for catering to the needs of budding entrepreneurs.

Dr. M. Vijayakumar is a Professor and Head of the Department of Management Studies, K.S.Rangasamy College of Technology. He has received the MBA degree from Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai, and received his Ph.D. degree from Gandhigram Rural Institute Dindigul in 2012. He has a teaching experience of 25 years in total. His research interests include Consumer Perception, Consumer Behaviour, Digital Marketing, Advertising and children. He has authored 3 books and 10 book chapters. He is a reviewer for reputed National and International journals. He is involved in many International Conferences as Technical Chair. He has received grants worth Rs 28.8 lakhs from various funding organizations like AICTE, RBI, National Human Rights Commission, ICSSR and TNSCST. He has conducted consultancy training for various organizations like Burn Standard, TAPCMS, Kannan Department Stores, Jai Suryas Department Stores, V- School, Nithra Apps India Pvt. Limited etc.

About the faculty: Dr. R. Hemamalini is a Masters in Business Administration and a Ph.D. in Management from Anna University. She has over 27 years of experience as a teacher, trainer, and consultant. She has attended the Faculty Development Programme at IIM – Ahmedabad. She currently works as a Professor at K.S.Rangasamy College of Technology, Tiruchengode. She has presented nearly 41 papers in various national and international conferences and seminars. She is also associated with business houses in the area of Human Resource Consulting. She has published nearly 23 papers in both National and International Journals. She is a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education and a Life member of the International Society in Research and Development. She has authored 2 books and 2 book chapters. Received the Best Paper Presentation Award from the Indian Society of Technical Education 13th Annual ISTE chapter held during 2010. She is a recipient of the NSF Best Research Paper Award from Nature Science Foundations, Coimbatore, India in 2018.

About the faculty: Dr. M. Ramakrishnan is a Professor in the Department of Management Studies at K.S.Rangasamy College of Technology. He received his B.Tech and M.Tech (Leather Technology) from Anna University, Chennai, and his MBA degree from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. He completed his Ph.D. degree from Anna University, Chennai, in the year 2013. With 22.7 years of teaching experience, his research interests include Service Quality, RSQS, Securities market, and Financial Services. He has edited 3 books and received grants worth Rs 19 lakhs from various funding organizations like AICTE and PMKVY. Dr. Ramakrishnan has conducted consultancy training for organizations like Burn Standard and TAPCMS. He has successfully completed the Entrepreneurship Educator Course through NEN and completed two NPTEL and one NISM certification course.

About the faculty: Dr. H. Kalaiarasi completed her full-time Ph.D. at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, affiliated with Anna University. With 20.5 years of teaching, industry, and research experience in Indian and Ethiopian Universities, including PSG Institute of Management and National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. Dr. Kalaiarasi has presented papers in various national and international conferences, including premier institutions like IIM-B, and received Best paper award, Best research contributor award, and cash rewards. She has research grants from the Ministry of Education, Ethiopia through BahirDar University, Ethiopia. She is an Accredited Management Teacher (AMT) certified by All India Management Education. Dr. Kalaiarasi has ten international publications with SCI, WOS, Scopus, and H Indexes. She is an Anna University recognized research supervisor and currently guiding two full-time Ph.D. Scholars. She has served as a reviewer and Editorial Board Member for various international journals. Her research interests are in technology adoption and risk management in the financial services sector.
