The Department of Mechatronics Engineering was established in year 2001 with a vision to create qualified mechatronics engineers to serve the automation industry.The department provides B.E., Mechatronics Engineering and M.E., Industrial Safety Engineering with an intake of 60 and 18 respectively. The department has excellent laboratory facilities which include Robotics,Advanced Microcontroller, PLC, CAD/ CAM, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Control, Drone, Research and Embedded laboratory equipped with modern software’s. The department has erudite and highly interactive faculty, well qualified in various spheres of mechatronics & safety engineering. Besides teaching, the department is actively involved in industrial consultancy and conducting training programmes for student, faculty and industrial people.

Dr. C. Vijayakumar is currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at K.S. Rangasamy College of Technology, Tiruchengode, Tamil Nadu, and has been associated with the institution since 05 June 2008. He completed his Ph.D. in Alternate Fuels from K.S. Rangasamy College of Technology in 2016, M.E. in Engineering Design in 2008 with First Class with Distinction, B.E. in Mechanical Engineering in 2006 with First Class with Distinction, and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with First Class Honours. He has more than 18 years of teaching and research experience, serving as Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and presently Professor. His areas of specialization include Alternate Fuels, IC Engines, Nano Additives, Biodiesel Technology, Electric Vehicles, and Emission Control Techniques. Dr. Vijayakumar has published more than 24 research papers in reputed International Journals and presented numerous papers in National and International Conferences. He is a recognized Research Supervisor under Anna University, Chennai, with 576 citations, h-index of 9, and i10-index of 9. He has authored a book titled “Bio Diesel Blends Doped with Copper Oxide Nano Particles – An Experimental and Theoretical Analysis” and holds a granted patent for “Innovative and Efficient Technology for Biodiesel Production from Non-Edible Oils” along with a copyright for “Vegetable Oil Pretreatment by Bubble Washing.” He has actively contributed to funded research projects sponsored by DST and ICMR in areas such as drone technology, climate change mitigation, healthcare devices, and nano composite materials. He has received several prestigious awards including Young Scientist Award, Best Researcher Award, and Excellent Remarkable Professional Development Faculty Award. He is a Life Member of ISTE, Fellow Member of ISRD, and Life Member of the Combustion Institution Indian Section (CIIS). He has also delivered invited lectures on nano additives and renewable fuel technologies and presented research papers internationally in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Dr..R. Senthilmurugan is an accomplished academician, researcher, and engineering professional currently serving as Professor in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at K.S. Rangasamy College of Technology, Tiruchengode, Tamil Nadu. He possesses more than 22 years of combined teaching and industrial experience in the fields of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering.
Before entering academia, Dr. Senthilmurugan gained nearly 10 years of industrial experience in foundry, production, design engineering, and power generation sectors. His industrial expertise includes design and execution of power generation units from sago effluent, production engineering, and manufacturing operations.
Dr. Senthilmurugan has published 7 research papers in reputed international journals focusing on nanomaterials, photovoltaic systems, corrosion protection coatings, photocatalytic materials, quality engineering, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). His recent collaborative research works involve green synthesis of metal oxide nanoparticles, anticorrosion coatings, renewable energy materials, and advanced nanocomposites. His publications have received notable citations in journals such as Journal of Electronic Materials, Inorganic Chemistry Communications, Ceramics International, and Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Electronics.
In addition to his journal publications, he has contributed to the field of innovation through intellectual property development with 1 granted patent and 4 patent publications in the areas of nanocomposite materials, environmental applications, and advanced engineering technologies. Dr. M. Baskaran is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at K.S.Rangasamy College of Technology. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University in 2018 in the area of Heat Treatment. He possesses more than 18 years of teaching experience and has published over 26 technical papers at both national and international levels. He has also published six book chapters with various publishers. His research contributions include significant work in renewable energy systems, nanofluids, and thermal engineering applications. Major research areas focus on photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) solar collectors and hydrogen production technologies for sustainable energy development. Several research publications have appeared in reputed international journals related to hydrogen energy, thermal sciences, and advanced materials. The students shall undergo mandatory Internship/Industrial training during the summer/winter vacation with prior approval from the Head of the Institution. Mechatronics Engineering students will learn to integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components to create efficient and reliable solutions through their internship. In this case, the training has to be undergone by the students for at least continuous two weeks in an organization and credits shall be awarded as prescribed in the curriculum. Students are permitted to undergo internship in Industry/ University/ Research organization. Credits shall be Internship given for students undergoing internship/doing projects in relevant industry as given below:
